I’d like to know who is supposed to oversee military contractors and where the heck are they? The latest misuse of our tax dollars was by AEY Inc., which was supposed to supply munitions to Afghanistan. Well they did but the munitions were over 40 years old and useless to our troops. AEY works out of an unmarked office in Miami Beach. Whose cousin or friend are these guys? I’m so disgusted with the large number of appointees that were not qualified to do the jobs assigned to them. Now more and more military contractors are not worth the jobs for which we are paying millions and billions of dollars. Most of the contracts were not won by bidding but given out like lollypops to kids.
Did anyone even check out AEY? It’s a new company led by a 22-year-old man whose vice president was a licensed masseur. Come on now, that is just unbelievable considering what happened. This so called contractor was awarded a federal contract worth as much as nearly $300 million and became the main supplier for the Afghanistan police and army. I can’t help but wonder how many lives were lost due to their out of date munitions. If that isn’t bad enough, millions of dollars have been spent to have it destroyed. It has also come to light that in purchasing munitions, the contractor worked with middlemen suspected of illegal arms trafficking. When interviewed last year he denied any illegal activities and suggested that his activities should not be open to public view as he is working on a moderately classified Department of Defense project. This is another example of things that are going on behind the backs of the American public. Once again I ask who is looking after the taxpayers interests?
