After years of considering myself a Democrat I find myself not happy with either party so I guess that I am now an Independent. I’ve been very disappointed with the Democrats in the Congress. A large number are gutless in my opinion. I know that they’ve had a battle with republicans but they always seem to cave in. At this point in time I’ll just have to listen to everyones promises and hope that I get a gut feeling about who is fired up enough to make the changes that this country needs. I do know that anyone who advocates a “100 years” in Iraq is automatically off my list.

I was ticked off to discover that I had to declare a party in the Washington State primary so I didn’t. Since the Republican party doesn’t seem to have a candidate that lights my fire, I guess that I’ll have to stick with the Democrats for now. I am tired of our country having been run for years by political machines. Clinton seems to belong to an older era of American politics. I’m ready for someone with a fresh new look and who is willing to reach across the aisle. That person has a lot of homework to do to deal with the difficult problems that this country is facing.
