I guess that I’m not the only one who thinks that all the war spending is depriving our nation of necessary infrastructure repairs. The bridge collapse in Minneapolis is only the tip of the iceberg. In addition the bridges all across the country, highways are in much need of repair. In reality, the war money is needed in many places. Think peace!

While I’m thinking peace, Democrats are fighting among themselves about methods to use that will force President Bush to change policy in Iraq. I think that they are butting their heads against a very hard headed president. I’m being pessimistic because it ain’t gonna happen. During an interview on “Meet The Press” last Sunday, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates acknowledged the possibility that the Pentagon could begin withdrawing troops this year. During his appearance on “Meet the Press,” Gates stated that a successful outcome depends on “political reconciliation.” Gates said that any decisions rest with President Bush which puts us back where we started with a bull headed president.
