I am truly embarrassed that the world has to see the petty bickering taking place during the debates. I am also dismayed that this list of hopefuls is the best that either party has to offer the voters for the next president of our country. I believe that the next four years are critical for the next leader to be able to get us out of Iraq with the least amount of damage to our status as a world leader and to the country of Iraq. Our economy is sliding into a recession which affects the world markets. The needs here at home are also overwhelming, some of which are decent affordable health care for all citizens, very necessary repair of our infrastructure plus the return of many basic constitutional rights taken away by the Bush administration.

I have never missed voting once in over 57 years but also have never been in such a quandary about who to vote for. I’m really turned off by the way Bill Clinton has been fighting for his wife and see him as a distraction. An enormous task is facing the next president and who, I ask myself, is up to that task? Experience, a new face and outlook, it’s a tough choice for me to hone in on. At this point in time I find it hard to attend a caucus and declare a candidate. I can easily accept Obama as our president if the voters think that he is qualified for the momentous task ahead of him. I am concerned that there is still a lot of prejudice in our country and wonder if it can be overcome should Obama become the Democratic candidate. The question of race, does still rear it’s ugly head.
