In my opinion the Estate Tax should stand. Only the very wealthy will benefit from a repeal. Can it be responsibly reformed? Who pays the estate tax, how much revenue it generates and why we should retain it needs to be discussed. The idea that the tax puts small farmers out of business is not true. The real beneficiaries are the nation’s multimillionaires. The Estate Tax is one of the fairest tax and most important tax that we have. Warren Buffet, the second richest man in the U.S., is in favor of keeping the tax.
There are future financial obligations for health care, energy, national security and education plus others. Are tax cuts for the wealthy a priority? I think not.
