Once again Democrats in Congress get voted down on a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) is attempting an Iraq amendment that would force a change in the mission without establishing a timetable for withdrawal. Since GOP Senate leaders are voting in opposition to all Democratic amendments, moderates who want a way out on Iraq are trying other methods.

The measure, could lead to withdrawals of troops because a change of mission would be limited to troop support, anti-terrorism, training and force protection. This proposal and other bipartisan proposals are being refused by Democratic leaders. Sounds like they are shooting each other in the foot and not moving forward to end the war.
