I’m sorry to say that I was very disappointed in the second presidential debate. I heard nothing new or different except McCain’s opening salvo that the government buy up all the bad home loans and refinance them at today’s rates. Obama, for his part, seemed more sure of his step by step ways to fix healthcare, the economy and foreign affairs. One comment during the debate by McCain really stood out when he referred to Obama as “that one”, which I thought revealed the “real” McCain. Undecided voters who were interviewed after the debate still seemed to be undecided.
The negative TV ads and stumping by McCain, Palin and Obama, on the days leading up to the debate really turned me off, the worst by the McCain campaign. If the final debate is similar to this one, then people need to consider McCain’s poor choice of a running mate and ask themselves if they really want Palin to represent the U.S. should anything happen to McCain if he were chosen to be president. I’m planning to flee to Canada should that happen. I hope that I don’t have to eat those words.
