I cried along with the little six year old boy, seeing his father, a sailor, for the first time after his seven month deployment in Iraq. I’m sure that there were a lot of damp eyes watching that reunion. I also cry for the many, many children whose fathers will not be coming home. This whole unnecessary war has me in tears frequently, as daily, the news reports the deaths of both our brave service men and women and the huge numbers of innocent Iraqis. It’s pretty bad when I have to watch the evening news with a tissue box at my side.
My tears are tears of frustration because my voice and many other voices, against this war are disregarded by our “Commander in Chiefâ€. We are all waiting for a change that does not seem to be coming. If we really want change, I say “Shuck Bushâ€.
