We’re all familiar with the term “shock and awe”, well, yesterday I was amused by the shock and disbelief that Bush insiders displayed on the “Today” show. I have no way of knowing if Scott McClennan, Bush’s former Press Secretary, has an axe to grind but he sure caught the attention of the country with his just released book. I know that I am biased when it comes to the Bush administration but the things that have come to light since we invaded Iraq makes McClennan’s book all the more believable to me. The very fact that so many things the administration does are given “executive privilege” and hidden from view does not inspire any kind of confidence in the rebuttals that came from White House sources. I haven’t heard too many denials of content but rather questioning of McClennan’s loyalty to the administration.

McClennan is not alone in his belief that the Iraq war was not necessary and was was a strategic blunder. He feels very strongly about the CIA leak affair where he claims that he was “misled” by Rove and Libby. Rove has been very verbal about McClellan on Fox News where he is a commentator. In my opinion, butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth. McClellan has written about a president who is stubborn and has the ability to deceive not only others, but also himself. Looks like a pretty true picture to me.
