I’m thoroughly disgusted with members of the Bush administration who think that they are above the law, the president included. Karl Rove has ignored a subpoena from the House Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law. He claims executive immunity from Congressional testimony. That’s a lot of baloney as his claims are not legally valid. This is not the first time that that he has claimed executive immunity previously saying that the White House and Justice Department advised him not to testify.

According to the Supreme Court “no man in this country is so high that he is above the law,” and “all the officers of the government, from the highest to the lowest, are creatures of the law and are bound to obey it.” When will these words be enforced? Rove’s arrogance makes me want to slap him “upside the head.” the Justice Department is backing Rove’s immunity even though he is now a private citizen and there is no precedent for extending immunity to former government officials. Somehow I don’t have a lot of faith in our Justice Department.
