While we seem to making headway against al-Qaeda it’s still a drop in a bucket of problems that our military faces daily. Chief of staff of coalition forces in Iraq, Brigadier General Joseph Anderson, said strides are being made routing al-Qaeda and killing some of it’s top foreign leaders. Foreign terrorists commit most high profile attacks in Iraq, but let’s face it, the civil war is still looming it’s ugly head and may be a bigger problem than al-Qaeda for our military. Sunni and Shia insurgents are still at each others throats and the Iraqi government is still sitting on it’s hands.
It seems that it will be March before any new decisions about a change of course for the war, if then. Meanwhile we here at home will be faced with seeing the names and ages of military killed daily, on our evening news. Shame on Congress for continuing to fund the war.
