Tomorrow is Washington State’s primary. I had to make a tough choice on my absentee ballot, one I was not ready to make. When the General Election arrives that choice will have been made for me. There are many questions that I must ask myself and try to find some answers from Clinton and Obama. Many of the topics that I will list have not been discussed to my satisfaction by either candidate. It’s kind of frightening to try to select a person who will be able to competently address the following:

THE IRAQ WAR AND FOREIGN POLLICY
DEFENSE SPENDING
USE OF FORCE
TERRORISM
INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP
NONPROLIFERATION
MIDDLE EAST
IRAN
CHINA
RUSSIA
NORTH KOREA

That’s an impressive list but very important topics that need some answers before I can decide on the next candidate for president and now it seems that it’s too late for me to be undecided. We need to get beyond questions about who voted for the war or not. Where am I going to get my answers? There seems to be some tip toeing around really hard questions. I didn’t even mention THE ECONOMY and THE ENVIRONMENT or how we plan to rebuild America’s military strength. It’s possible that the economy may well be a leading issue as we slide into recession. I sure wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of the next president who will be facing dealing with those topics and rectifying Bush’s mismanagement. I want some answers from somebody before I go to the polls in the fall.
