There are so many global issues to look at that I’ll try to see what I can study and write about. I really can’t keep politics at bay as they rule almost everything. My best choice is to be more moderate and take more of a global view if possible. I cannot be weaned from politics so if I don’t bash Bush and his administration too badly, I’ll try not to do too much bashing in general in other areas. Bashing allows me to let off steam and isn’t that the reason that we do it?
I may be forced to give Bush and his administration kudos if they can override their ideologies and rescue homeowners and mortgage lenders. Just short of calling it a “government bailout”, Ben S. Bernanke, the Fed chairman said that more should be done to help people whose mortgages have become bigger than the value of their homes. The economic stimulus bill that Bush signed a month ago increased the size of loans that the F.H.A. can insure, a move that was previously opposed and increased Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae mortgages from $417,000 up to $729,750. Maybe this kind of help will keep the big “R” word from being raised. Addressing the problem of increased mortgage foreclosures the administration may be able to avert a more serious economic slowdown. While administration officials are opposed, Democratic leaders in Congress are trying more extensive rescue measures. I hope that these actions help turn around the housing crisis in the nation.
I am so disgusted with the filthy porno spam and large numbers of drug spam that is inundating the comments section of this blog that I am turning off the “Comments” section. I’m not a prude by any means but some of the stuff that is coming thru is even too much for me. Sorry sicko’s, go elsewhere with your filth.
