All the military officers under Donald Rumsfeld are finally gone with Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace, who has been critized by the Pentagon, for being a “yes” man for Rumsfeld, the last to go. Pace the Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, will be replaced by Adm. Michael Mullin. Hopefully Mullin will not give us a rosy picture of “success” in Iraq as Pace did. It’s an obligation for the chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff to loyally serve the president and the defense secretary, without, I hope, lying to the nation about conditions in Iraq. Now we continue to count our dead and see what happens next…Joan Lough
