I read the following in today’s Politico.com, “General [David] Petraeus and Ambassador [Ryan] Crocker will testify to the Congress in both open as well as closed sessions prior to the Sept. 15 report,†said Gordon Johndroe, the spokesman for the National Security Council”. There had been democratic fears that all the testimony would be behind closed doors. I think that the American public needs to hear about the reality on the ground in Iraq. Will the report be slanted in any way? Only time will tell. The Bush credibility is down the toilet, in my opinion, and people are going to be very careful what they believe coming from sources closely tied to the Bush administration. I still hear from various administration sources that we are “making progress” on the ground in Iraq. Progress toward what?
