If the intelligence community knew that Iran had halted it’s nuclear weapons work in 2003, how does Bush get by with feeding the American public erroneous information? He is still standing strong, backing his “axis of evil” claim against Iran. I’m not saying that Iran is snow white but it’s just another factor that makes me feel that we should “shuck” Bush. I quote the president “Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous, and Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon,” he said the day following the intelligence release. It’s sad to realize that the leader of our country is so mule headed in face of the latest information. The U.S. has lost credibility once again. Remember that this information dates back to 2003. We do need to remain vigilant in our watch of Iran but antagonizing them doesn’t make for good political interaction.

Iran said the report confirmed Tehran’s frequent protestations that its nuclear program is purely civilian. It applauded the United States decision to “correct” its claim of an active Iranian nuclear weapons program. Two of our key allies, France and Britain, said that past concerns about Iran were correct but the report complicates efforts to impose new sanctions on Iran since Russia and China are skeptical of sanctions, but tighter sanctions will help enforce that Iran will not be able to produce nuclear weapons.
