I can understand censorship of sensitive military information but I believe that the tighter rules being instituted, which includes service members who have returned home and started blogs about their combat experience, is more about what the public gets to learn about what is really going on in Iraq.
I was a staunch believer of “I support the troops but not the war”. Now the information coming out about the numbers of service personel that think that torture is OK, that many have hurt innocent civilians and less than half believe that Iraqi civilians should be treated with respect and dignity. I believe that the stress of this war is impairing their moral judgement. I want to continue to support the troops but the facts coming to light make me have second thoughts about support for such stressed out combat forces. What are we doing to these young men and women who are obviously psychologically impaired. The best thing that we can do for them is bring them home…Joan Lough
