We American taxpayers are paying thru the nose for widespread fraud. Not only billions of dollars lost to fraud in Iraq, now figures have been released about criminals abusing Medicare. Over 60 billion dollars a year for fraudulent billing of an organization that cares for 43 million seniors and the disabled.
Surely someone can come up with a way to check on the companies that run in empty rooms and bill Medicare for durable goods and doctors who bill for services not provided. It’s a disgrace that this has been allowed to happen for years. Medicare can ill afford to lose that kind of money. Seniors and their families should be very watchful of just what is being billed in their name. Those who are caught defrauding the government need to be put in jail and the key thrown away.
