Both Bush and Cheney are doing everything under the sun to keep their activities hidden. Bush claiming executive privilege and Chaney, who knows what excuse he’s using these days. “It’s apparent that this White House is contemptuous of the Congress and feels it doesn’t have to explain itself to anyone — not the people’s representatives in Congress and not the American people.” says Senator Leahy.
Rep. John Conyers of Michigan said “Contrary to what the White House may believe, it is the Congress and the courts that will decide whether an invocation of executive privilege is valid, not the White House unilaterally.” Time will tell what action, if any, will be taken to force testimonies…Joan Lough
