Remember when we were told that we would be greeted with flowers in Iraq. That never happened and after five years of our troops being killed by roadside bombs and suicide bombers our military is now faced with female suicide bombers. Boy, they sure do love us. I can understand how they feel about people who have invaded their country but the most recent attacks are against their own people. An awful lot of hate must drive a woman to kill in such a manor. Is their religion one of hate, one sect against another? This kind of killing seems senseless to me. Just what is it achieving? Guerrillas still operate freely in some areas. While killing of US troops is way down from last year, the killing of civilians continues and seems to be growing again. It seems that the surge was temporary.
Female suicide bombers are thought to be part of the insurgent group Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia and “takfiris,†which is a term used to describe Sunni extremists who attack Shiites because they believe Shiites practice a heretical form of Islam. While females are subject to searches the same a males in sensitive areas, the head to toe black garments that they wear make it hard to detect a bomber when they are in crowds of pedestrians near sensitive places. Most Iraqi women wear black cloaks that can hide anything. Antigovernment guerrillas continue to strike Shiite and Sunni targets. I think that we are causing more internal problems by our continued presence in Iraq. Militants continue to stir sectarian hatred.
