Of all the talk about troop withdrawal, I hear very little about a viable exit strategy. Certainly there must be logistics experts that can come up with solutions that could be mulled over. I’ve heard that all the troops could be moved to Kuwait within a year, out of harms way but near enough to jump back in if all the doomsayers predictions come true when we leave. Middle Eastern countries see us a occupiers and want us gone. If Iran wants to help stabilize Iraq, let them. But no, it’s all about oil. No country wants to see al-Qaeda take over and I’m not sure that would happen in Iraq. The only way we’ll know for sure is to bite the bullet and redeploy.
