Bush has finished his 8 days of meandering around the Middle East wearing his blinders. I believe that he does not live in the same reality that I do but is in some vague la-la land. Here he is trying to tell them that Iran is their enemy not Israel. Come on now, he has to be smoking something to think that they are going to swallow that hokum. I’m not saying that Iran is not a possible threat but not to the extent that he is pushing. He didn’t have to work too hard at looking like an idiot doing a sword dance with the King. I think that they are playing Bush like a piano and ending up with weapons, if the offer passes Congress.
I can’t help but wonder how Bush’s behavior with the King is viewed citizens in the Middle East. In my opinion, this lame-duck president is truly a lame duck. He seems to be doing as much damage as possible before he leaves office, leaving a real mess in the lap of the next president. I also get the feeling that he believes that the next president will be a democrat as he goes his merry way with international relations and sneaky little inserts in bills submitted to congress. It’s amazing that he still continues to use “fear tactics” which nobody is falling for.
Bush’s presidency is ending with disaster in Iraq, the chaos in Pakistan, guerrilla war against Western forces in Afghanistan, fighting in Gaza, and near civil war in Lebanon. All this strife follows his father’s vow for a weapons-free “oasis of peace” in the Gulf while Washington, Britain, France and Russia have been pouring arms into the region.
