Listening to the President’s News conference with the press this morning just about pushed me over the edge. One of his comments, that he felt sorry for the Iranian people because they had a leader with a plan that the whole world was against. Duh George, what do we have here and who is feeling sorry for the American people because of our leader. I really feel sorry for the American people because of the leader that we have, not much better than the Iranians I guess. How dare you stand before the American people and tell us that we can expect a bloodier summer with more troop and civilian deaths while we mark time until a new report in September about this needless war that you dragged the country into. Butter couldn’t melt in your mouth as you tell us how bad you feel for the families and loved ones of our troops. I, for one, am fed up hearing your constant c–p about the insurgents following us home.
You are way too late (almost 4,000 American deaths alone) with a plan to “internationalize” the Iraq crisis. That’s not going to get you a gold star at this point. Too many families are posting a different kind of gold star. The different religious factions in Iraq have been fighting for too long over time, to expect the wishey washey Demoratic Iraqi government to make a dent in drawing them together…Joan Lough
