Yesterday, after a five minute ovation, Bill Clinton fulfilled my expectations and echoed his wife’s words to unify the democratic party for Obama. I’m sure that his words will have meaning for the hoards of people who admire him. I still have trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that many people will let color keep them from voting for Obama rather than looking at what he can do for our country. Am I naive to think that in this day and age that the “white sheet” mentality has lessened enough to elect an African American president? We all need to move forward to accept all people for what they are, regardless of skin color.
Joe Biden gave a fiery speech showing all the ways that Obama differs with McCain. The delegates responded hooting and hollering and applauding all during his speech. The evening ended with a surprise visit by Obama inviting everyone to join him tonight at the Denver Broncos football stadium, which holds 80,000 people, for his acceptance speech.
