I read a very disturbing article and saw parts of an even more disturbing video, Al Qaeda training children to be terrorists. Some of the boys appear to be 10 or 11 years old and some seem to be teenagers. I think that the video is a rehearsed propaganda piece to recruit people to go to real camps. I do see the need to root out al-Qaeda but on their own turf, Afghanistan. I can’t begin to imagine the difficulty our military would face having to kill child terrorists in Iraq. If our soldiers are already coming home stressed and committing suicide, think what further damage having to kill children, other than in accidents of war, would do to them. Are the ranks of al-Queda thinning so they need to use children or is it another diabolical plan. I know that they use women and mentally challenged people. How much lower will they stoop?
The video was made by Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia which is said to have foreign leadership. The Iraqi government is doing nothing to stop violence among the different religious groups and now our military, who have been trying to win the minds and hearts of the Iraqi people as best they can, will be faced with very young Iraqis who are being turned against them. I read that a boy of about 11 invaded a household and killed people. A whole new generation of insurgents are being trained right under our noses.
