Bush has added a new fear factor for America. Now that “Al-qaida will follow us home if we leave Iraq” is wearing thin he has jumped to warnings on Iran during his press conference, suggesting that if the country obtained nuclear arms, it could lead to “World War III.†Does anyone pay attention to this guy?
Top commanders in the field in Iraq believe that Al-Qaida has been all but eliminated. For quite some time the majority of violence in Iraq is not from al-Qaeda or foreign insurgents. Sunnis versus shias are the ones causing the most violence. This is something that I have been saying for quite some time but it’s something that the Bush Administration doesn’t want to accept. This goes against one of the reasons for the surge. Are these commanders being silenced for telling the truth to the American people? The information from field commanders should be made public information. This is important information that should not be ignored by the American public.
