About Joan

Joan Lough I’m 78 years old, and I oppose the war in Iraq. For the past four years I have participated in every way I know to communicate this, by attending rallies, sharing stories and opinions via email with friends and family, writing letters to the editors of my local newspapers, and now this blog.

For the record, I’m a former Marine, my father was a Marine, and my husband was Army Corps of Engineers. My grandson is a Marine who recently returned from Iraq. My husband and I also served in the Peace Corps from 1989-1993, as seniors.

As a patriot, I feel compelled to share my conviction that the war in Iraq was an error, and that the current administration is not representing the best interests of all Americans. Shuck Bush! (One meaning for the word “shuck” is get rid of, another is a person or thing regarded as worthless or contemptible). Take your pick.
